Learn the Basics of Selling Wholesale Knives
There is as much as two to three hundred percent mark up in wholesale knives when purchasing them through a retail store. This goes to show that a lot of profit can be made from the sale of just one knife.
This high markup allows you to sell knives at a "discount" price to the public and you can still generate profit from the sale. Let's say you buy a pocket knife wholesale for $2. This knife can be seen in stores for $12.99. You can cut that price to $6.99 and still make nearly four dollars in profit. You can them market the knife as being on sale at fifty percent off. This can mean lucrative sales and large profits.
Before you step into business you should research and determine the types of wholesales knives that you should offer. You can determine the best selling knives by looking at the bestseller's on Ebay. You can purchase multi-function camping knives wholesale for $1.50. You can in turn sell this knife for $3 and then charge $3 for the shipping and handling. The customer is still getting their knives cheaper through you and you are making an extra $2 in shipping and handling charges. Sounds great huh?
You can clearly see that you will not make a huge profit off of selling just one knife, but the key is to sale larger quantities of wholesale knives. Making two to three dollars profit on one knife is nothing to shout to the rooftops about, but selling 100 of the knives in a week could be.
The greatest thing about wholesale knives is that there is a lot of wiggle room in the markup of them. You can charge double the price you paid wholesale and still beat the retail prices by more than half. This is a beneficial deal for all involved. The wholesaler gets to sell their knives to you, your customer gets them from you cheaper, and you make profit.
